These little power bombs are cool but if they keep happening, the fans will grow accustomed to them and it will ruin the eventual Shield reunion in the future. The Shield is not the Shield without Dean Ambrose. I’ll seriously advise the WWE to stop using those all the time. What did we get? Another partial Shield reunion moment. It was a case of name dropping, in order to get the fans to watch the PPV. Why did Rollins even bring up the issue about his feud with the boss, if The Game had no intention of showing up at Roadblock? To sell tickets, that’s why.

The one thing that wasn’t on the list but was heavily suggested during the build-up for the event was an appearance by Triple H. What a disappointment!Įven looking at the Roadblock card before the PPV, we knew there was nothing huge on it. Jericho feud would have been nice but – no. If we weren’t going to get something bigger, at least, the actual start of a KO vs. Roadblock brought nothing new to the table when it comes to the Universal title. Unless the rekindling of the Chris and Kevin relationship was meant to be the big surprise… That’s just a case of blatantly underestimating the fans’ intelligence. I don’t know why the WWE even bothered booking these, if the writers weren’t going to put some sort of a swerve to it. These matches felt like any regular RAW fillers. Owens would have been a far stronger match than these two put together. The wrestling was good but how can you expect PPV type of hype for fights that don’t have true underlying feuds? Come on! Jericho vs. Yet, the WWE chose to click repeat again. Roadblock could have changed this stupid pattern of passing the belt between the always dominant Charlotte and the teary underdog face Sasha. The WWE has turned the WWE RAW Women’s Championship into a complete joke. 3 seconds left till the end of the normal time. I’ll give credit where it’s due, the women not only fought the entire 30 minutes of the Ironman match but they also went into overtime and still delivered. The match itself should have been monumental but it was disappointing. Four times has Sasha won the belt and lost it to Charlotte on the next possible PPV. This victory was one of the most cringe-worthy booking decisions of 2016 in the WWE. The way this was booked, Sami doesn’t look any better than before Roadblock. Are we supposed to take this as a victory when he looked like a punch bag all the way through? I understand Zayn played the underdog, but he could have done that and he could have actually delivered something in the ring, at the same time. It would have been more in his nature to grab Sami and break him right in front of the RAW GM, instead of having pointless verbal arguments. The WWE opted for an unnecessary appearance of Mick Foley to waste some precious time. How exactly those 10 minutes would be spent was the real question. The 10-minutes time limit was put in place, so Sami Zayn could survive it and say that he beat Braun Strowman. It would be great if this rivalry could get forgotten, along with most of Roadblock End of the Line. Rusev did get a count-out victory but he looked pitiful in the role that was appointed to him.

Instead, they had him get humiliated by Big Cass. The WWE had a great opportunity to try the Bulgarian Brute as a face. How are we ever to take Rusev as the heel here?! How brave of Enzo Amore – hitting on a married woman, offending her and then after getting his ass kicked for it – sending in his big friend to fight the fight the HE had started. It ended up in the Roadblock pre-show and really – that’s where it belonged.Įnzo came out, having the audacity to put an insulted face on, as he proudly told us that his words “have the legs of a seven footer”. However, the show totally flopped, giving off more of an average RAW vibe, rather than a must-see special feel. Roadblock End of the Line was expected to close the year 2016 of PPVs for the WWE on a high note.
